Mubarak and Al-Awadi reach the semifinals of the Portugal International Doubles tennis tournament

Kuwait’s national tennis players Abdulhamid Mubarak and Mohammed Al-Awadi achieved a new milestone for Kuwaiti tennis by reaching the doubles semifinals at the ongoing Portugal Open, a professional tennis tournament held in Evora, Portugal, and running until the 23rd of this month. They advanced after defeating the pair of American player Alexander Bravo and his Portuguese partner Diego Coelho in the quarterfinals in straight sets.

The tournament features a field of professional players representing 14 countries from around the world.

Abdulrzza Al-Gharib, chairman of the board of directors of the Kuwait Tennis Federation, contacted the two national team stars to congratulate them on their semifinal berth in the doubles event and wished them success in their upcoming matches. He stated that this important victory continues the national team’s tradition of achievements and consistent podium finishes.
