Kuwait's Most Respected Men in Al-Rai

Al-Rai Media Group hosted a military delegation of press officers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) armed forces, as part of a program focused on exchanging expertise, enhancing coordination between military and media institutions, and exploring modern practices in content production and corporate communications management. These efforts aim to develop the performance of Gulf media and raise readiness levels to handle various events and developments, particularly amid the rapid transformations currently reshaping the media sector.
The delegation was received by Rashid Al-Omairi, Chief Executive Officer of Al-Rai Media Group, who welcomed the members and emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits and similar meetings in building direct and sustainable communication channels. He noted that such interactions provide a practical space for sharing experiences and successful practices, contributing to the development of joint work mechanisms and enhancing the capacity to keep pace with regional and international changes.
The delegation listened to a detailed presentation by Al-Omairi on the nature of Al-Rai Media Group’s operations across its editorial, television, and digital sectors, highlighting its multiple media platforms that function within an integrated system.
Al-Omairi also outlined the stages of the group’s development, stressing the importance of integration among the newspaper, television, and digital platforms in producing cohesive content that preserves the institution’s identity and professional mission, while allowing greater flexibility in addressing audience needs and expectations.
He affirmed that media plays a pivotal national role, especially during crises and exceptional developments in the region, due to its fundamental role in providing reliable information, raising public awareness, supporting national unity, and protecting society from misinformation and negative influences.
Al-Omairi paid tribute to the heroes of the GCC armed forces, affirming that everyone stands behind them amid the circumstances facing the region. He stated that Al-Rai Media Group is mobilizing its media capabilities to support them and convey the necessary national messages to the public.
He clarified that media responsibility intensifies during exceptional times, given the need for accurate, rapid, and clear information. This necessitates heightened coordination with relevant authorities and ensuring consistency in media messages, enabling timely delivery to the audience.
Osman Al-Othman, Director of Political Programs at Al-Rai TV, and Dr. Ghanem Al-Sulaimani from the Editorial Department, presented an introductory overview covering the group’s various sectors, the history and evolution of Kuwaiti media, and the role played by national media institutions in keeping pace with the country’s development.
The presentation addressed the editorial, technical, and production tasks within the group, detailing the media content preparation cycle—from event monitoring and information gathering from sources, through editing, review, verification, and fact-checking, to production, broadcasting, and publishing across the newspaper, television, and digital platforms.
It also highlighted the importance of continuous coordination to ensure message unity and role integration between government and private institutions during the region’s exceptional circumstances, thereby strengthening national cohesion and instilling confidence among citizens.
The meeting featured an extensive discussion on key challenges in media work and crisis communications, emphasizing the need for clear plans and flexible operational mechanisms that enable rapid response to events. Such measures ensure the flow of reliable information to media outlets and the public, limiting the spread of rumors and preventing conflicting messages from various entities.
Participants emphasized that such meetings provide an opportunity to exchange successful experiences, pave the way for developing joint training programs and initiatives that contribute to enhancing staff efficiency, strengthening media readiness, and unifying efforts to counter disinformation and inaccurate information.
