Al-Sharhan discussed with the US Chief of Staff the enhancement of cooperation and strategic partnership

The General Staff of the Armed Forces stated in a press release that the bilateral relations were reviewed during the meeting, and ways to develop joint military cooperation between the two sides were discussed, alongside examining existing strategic partnerships and means to strengthen them in a manner that serves mutual interests. Both sides also touched upon efforts aimed at enhancing regional security and stability.

As part of the visit, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Sharaian and the accompanying delegation visited the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in the United States of America, where they were received by Kuwait’s Ambassador to Washington, Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, and members of the diplomatic mission, within the framework of his official visit to the friendly United States.

The General Staff noted that during the visit, the embassy’s efforts to support bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, particularly in the military and defense fields, were reviewed.

It added that Lieutenant General Al-Sharaian, accompanied by Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, visited the site of the memorial for Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield, where he was briefed on the construction stages and the sacrifices made by the friendly American people as part of the international coalition operations led by the United States to liberate Kuwait in 1991, reflecting the depth of historical relations and the close ties between the two friendly countries.

A high-level delegation of senior commanding officers from the Army accompanied the Chief of the General Staff during the official visit.
