Central Bank of Kuwait Offers Government Debt Instruments Worth KD 100 Million

The Central Bank of Kuwait, on behalf of the Ministry of Finance, issued treasury bills and public debt securities with a total value of 100 million Kuwaiti dinars, maturing in five years and yielding a uniform rate of 3.375%, amid strong interest from local financial institutions. Submissions exceeded the issuance size by 3.87 times, with bids totaling 387 million dinars.

A total of 37 applications were received, of which 11 were accepted. The issuance was allocated through the competitive tranche, without recourse to the non-competitive tranche, with a maximum allocation limit of 40 million dinars per participant.

Since the beginning of the current fiscal year 2026/2027, which started last April, the total amount of long-term local public debt instruments issued has reached 1.75 billion dinars across 12 issuances, compared to total bank bids of 5.715 billion dinars, bringing the overall coverage ratio to 3.26 times.

These issuances since last April were distributed as follows: 350 million dinars for a two-year maturity, 600 million dinars for three years, 200 million dinars for five years, and 100 million dinars for seven years, reflecting a clear focus on medium-term maturities while continuing to test market appetite for longer tenors.
