"Barkan" graduates 28 students in "Path" in partnership with "CODED" and "Loyak"

In line with its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and investment in developing future national talent, Boubyan Bank concluded the latest edition of its summer training program, “Path,” following a four-week training journey involving 28 students. Developed in collaboration with CODED Academy, the program included participants who are children of bank employees and trainees from Loyaq, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience in the banking sector, alongside the development of digital skills, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship, thereby enhancing participants’ readiness for their future academic and professional stages.

The program concluded with a graduation ceremony and student project presentations, during which participants showcased their graduation projects, their experiences, and the knowledge and skills they acquired throughout the program, in front of a judging panel comprising several bank executives. The ceremony also featured the recognition of outstanding participants with awards for “Best Sales” and “Best Application and Project Idea,” in appreciation of their creativity and ability to apply what they learned during the program and transform their ideas into practical projects.

The program offered a comprehensive experience, including workshops delivered by CODED Academy aimed at enhancing financial literacy, digital capabilities, and field skills among participants, as well as broadening their horizons and familiarizing them with promising career opportunities in the banking sector and keeping pace with general labor market requirements.

“Path” is part of Boubyan Bank’s efforts to consolidate a culture of continuous learning, support its employees and their families, and strengthen collaboration with educational institutions. The program also provides young people with the opportunity to gain close exposure to the work environment and develop a range of practical, digital, financial, and personal skills that help them better prepare for future academic and professional opportunities.

On this occasion, Fatima Ahmed, Senior Manager of Corporate Culture and Employee Engagement at Boubyan Bank, said: “We are proud today to have completed a full month of training for participants, which combined banking culture, digital skills, entrepreneurship, and practical experience across various sectors of the bank. The graduation projects reflected the knowledge and skills students acquired during the program, as well as the creativity, confidence, teamwork spirit, and ability they demonstrated in transforming their ideas into viable projects.”

She added: “Through ‘Path,’ we aim to provide young people with the opportunity to learn through experience, discover their potential, and gain a deeper understanding of the work environment. The progress we observed among participants and the quality of the projects they presented at the end of the program confirm the importance of investing in high-quality experiences that contribute to preparing national talent for future labor market demands.”

For her part, Nida Daneshi, Manager of Professional Empowerment at Loyaq, said: “We are pleased to collaborate with Boubyan Bank through the ‘Path’ summer training program, which provided young people with the opportunity to undergo a real practical experience and gain close exposure to the work environment, thereby contributing to the development of their professional and personal skills and enhancing their readiness for the future.”

She added: “These experiences contribute to developing a range of essential skills among young people, including teamwork, effective communication, accountability, and problem-solving, and give them greater confidence as they transition to their upcoming academic and professional stages.”

“Path” included a comprehensive entrepreneurship track, through which participants gained practical experience in developing digital application ideas, designing visual identities, and preparing prototypes for websites and applications.

During the final two weeks of the program, participants undertook a field training experience across various departments and branches of Bank Al-Bahrain, enabling them to gain close-up insight into the nature of work in the banking sector and acquire practical experience under the supervision of the bank’s experts. The program also included awareness workshops aimed at enhancing participants’ financial and banking literacy as part of the “Let’s Be Informed” campaign. These workshops covered several topics, including financial fraud methods, cybercrime, and preventive measures, the importance of saving, and the safe use of banking services, alongside encouraging participants to adopt sound financial behaviors from an early age. The program also contributed to developing a number of core skills relevant to the banking work environment, such as customer service, effective communication, and teamwork.

Bank Al-Bahrain reaffirmed its commitment to investing in the development of young national talent and providing high-quality educational and practical experiences in collaboration with educational and technological institutions, thereby helping to prepare a generation equipped with the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to meet future demands. This effort aligns with the bank’s corporate social responsibility strategy and its slogan, “You Are Our Driving Force.”
