Remains of Belgian climbers found after 34 years

AFP – The remains of Belgian climbers who disappeared in the Swiss Alps 34 years ago have been found following the melting of the Trift Glacier, police announced on Wednesday.
On July 26, a hiker reported discovering human remains on the glacier in southern Switzerland, near the Italian border, according to a statement from the Valais cantonal police.
Climate change has accelerated the melting of glaciers, and the retreat of the ice has exposed the remains of climbers who had been buried for years, and often for decades.
Last year, the bones of a Swiss mountaineer who disappeared in 1994 were found in a glacier on the Ober Gabelhorn mountain, also in Valais.
