Faisal bin Farhan and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman emphasized the security and safety of freedom of navigation

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani reviewed in Riyadh on Wednesday the “latest developments in the region, and diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions, contain instability, and preserve regional security and stability,” emphasizing “the importance of continuing coordination and consultation, and harmonizing positions regarding current developments, in order to enhance the effectiveness of efforts aimed at consolidating security.”
According to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman affirmed “support for Qatari and Pakistani mediation efforts and the role they play in advancing the settlement of disputes through diplomatic means,” stressing “the necessity of continuing joint work to ensure the security, safety, and freedom of navigation in vital maritime corridors in the region.”
Earlier, Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed that “the Kingdom continues its efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent the recurrence of instability and conflicts, by focusing on comprehensive and sustainable diplomatic solutions that address the sources of instability in our region.”
He also stressed “the importance of protecting freedom of navigation in all international waterways, in accordance with international law, and the necessity of keeping the Strait of Hormuz, the Bab al-Mandab, and all maritime passages open, secure, and free from any threats.”
