New Emirati mediation succeeds in releasing 206 Russian and Ukrainian prisoners

The United Arab Emirates announced the success of its mediation efforts between Moscow and Kyiv in facilitating a new prisoner exchange involving 103 Russian prisoners and 103 Ukrainian prisoners, bringing the total number of prisoners exchanged between the two sides through these mediation efforts to 7,997.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the cooperation of the two friendly countries in ensuring the success of the UAE’s mediation efforts, recognizing the UAE as a trusted international mediator, and acknowledging the UAE’s commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at resolving the crisis.

It was noted that with the success of this mediation, the total number of UAE-mediated efforts during the crisis has reached 26, reflecting the distinguished relations that bind the UAE with both Russia and Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the UAE will continue its efforts to support various initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine and mitigating the humanitarian impacts of the crisis, such as those affecting refugees and prisoners.
