22 suspects arrested in 13 separate cases for possession of narcotics and psychotropic substances

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate for the Suppression of Narcotics, announced the arrest of 22 suspects in 13 separate cases involving possession of narcotics and psychoactive substances with intent to traffic and consume. In a press statement on Wednesday, the ministry said this step is part of ongoing security efforts to combat the scourge of drug abuse and pursue its distributors. The statement clarified that the operations resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, heroin, and chemical-laced leaves, as well as psychoactive tablets, quantities of marijuana and hashish, marijuana seeds, sensitive scales, and various drug-use paraphernalia. It added that all suspects and seized items have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal actions.
