Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahib affirmed that the Ministry of Interior operates according to a clear developmental objective, which forms the foundation for its digital transformation journey, stemming from its core responsibilities of maintaining security and providing services to citizens and residents. He emphasized that developing systems and leveraging modern technologies represent a fundamental pillar for enhancing the efficiency of security operations and elevating the quality of services provided.

In a statement, the Ministry of Interior noted that this came during a briefing attended by Deputy Minister Al-Wahib, Assistant Deputy Ministers of Interior, and several heads of sectors and security leaders. The briefing was presented by the Human Resources and Information Technology Sector regarding its operational framework, key systems, services, and developmental projects, as well as its role in strengthening institutional integration among the Ministry’s various sectors.

The presentation included the latest technological systems used to develop security work tools and improve the efficiency of information exchange. These systems contribute to speeding up the apprehension of wanted individuals, supporting investigative efforts, and detecting and handling security cases with efficiency and precision. Additionally, they enhance the capacity of field sectors to carry out their duties and take necessary actions at the required speed.

The presentation also covered the electronic services provided by the Ministry of Interior through the unified government electronic services application, “Sahel,” along with plans for their development and the addition of more services in the future.
