35,601 direct violations recorded over 8 days

Security and traffic campaigns carried out by the Traffic and Operations Affairs Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic and the General Directorate of Emergency Police, across various governorates of the country, resulted in the issuance of 35,601 traffic violations over eight days. Additionally, 1,990 security operations were conducted, 1,162 humanitarian assistance cases were handled, 99 wanted individuals were apprehended, and 83 individuals whose residency permits had expired were detained. These efforts are part of continuous initiatives to enhance road safety, improve discipline on roads, apprehend violators, and ensure the law is applied to all.

Regarding the campaigns conducted by the General Directorate of Emergency Police, which took place from August 9 to August 15, they yielded numerous apprehensions and security and traffic achievements.

On the security front, the campaigns resulted in 1,990 security operations, the apprehension of 59 wanted individuals, 15 wanted vehicles, 33 individuals whose residency permits had expired, 12 individuals without official identification, and 13 individuals suspected of abnormal behavior. Furthermore, seven individuals suspected of involvement were referred to the General Directorate of Drug Control for necessary legal action.

In the traffic domain, field teams issued 2,091 traffic violations, impounded 29 vehicles for violating traffic laws and regulations, handled 138 traffic accident reports, and provided 1,162 humanitarian assistance cases.

Concerning the campaigns conducted by the General Directorate of Traffic, which took place from August 10 to August 16, they resulted in the issuance of 33,592 traffic violations, the detention of 26 individuals at the Traffic Department, and the referral of eight minors to the Juvenile Prosecution to complete legal procedures against them. Additionally, 640 vehicles and eight motorcycles were impounded and stored in the impound lot.

The Operations Department also handled 2,233 traffic reports, including monitoring patrols for 764 collision incidents and 144 collisions resulting in injuries. Legal procedures were taken and cases were referred to the relevant police stations, while efforts were made to maintain smooth traffic flow.

On the security side, five individuals suspected of possessing narcotics were apprehended and referred to the General Directorate of Drug Control. Additionally, 14 individuals without official identification and 50 individuals whose residency permits had expired were detained. Furthermore, 40 wanted individuals and 25 wanted vehicles were apprehended, and all individuals and vehicles were transferred to the competent authorities for necessary legal action.
