"Na'is al-Yad" to Jordan

The Kuwaiti youth handball team departed for Jordan on Tuesday in preparation for the 11th Asian Championship.
Kuwait will compete in Group 2 alongside Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, and Syria, while Group 1 comprises Jordan, South Korea, Bahrain, India, and Uzbekistan.
The team will open its campaign in the tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the World Cup finals, against Syria on Thursday at the Princess Sumaya Hall in the capital, Amman.
The tournament draw was re-conducted after the withdrawals of Japan and Chinese Taipei due to current security conditions in the region.
Kuwait’s preparations for the continental competition began under the leadership of former Croatian coach Ivan Mahlja, who later resigned from his post. He was replaced by Arnesson before the team traveled to Slovenia for an external training camp, where they played friendly matches. Upon returning to the country, the squad held an internal training camp at Arena Mall.
