Newcastle sign Dedić

London, AFP - English football club Newcastle United announced on Tuesday that it had signed Bosnian defender Armin Hodžić from Portuguese club Benfica in a deal valued at $40 million.

The right-back, who was born in Austria, will play under Newcastle’s new German manager, Matthias Jaissle, with whom he won the Austrian league title with Red Bull Salzburg in 2023.

Meanwhile, highly regarded manager Eddie Howe has departed after five years in charge.
