Al Jazeera launches flights to Egypt's Aswan.. October 25

Kuwait Airways announced on Tuesday the launch of new commercial flights to the Egyptian city of Aswan, operating four times a week starting from October 25.

Mohamed Abu Al-Wafa, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kuwait, said at a press conference marking the launch of the new destination that the choice of Aswan as Egypt’s new destination holds special significance, noting that it is one of Egypt’s most prominent tourist and cultural destinations, boasting a rich history, unique archaeological sites, and stunning natural scenery along the banks of the Nile.

Abu Al-Wafa added that Aswan also serves as an important gateway to southern Egypt and a cultural and economic center with significant and diverse potential. He pointed out that this destination holds direct humanitarian and social importance, given the presence of a large Egyptian community in the State of Kuwait.

He clarified that as travel between Egypt and Kuwait becomes easier, opportunities for cooperation in all fields will expand, strengthening people-to-people, economic, and commercial ties between the two countries.

He praised the airline’s interest in the Egyptian market and its expansion to various Egyptian cities, which reflects the strength of travel flows and the ties between the two countries, expressing his appreciation for the care that the State of Kuwait extends to the Egyptian community on its soil.

For his part, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Prathan Pasupathy, said that with the launch of the Aswan destination, the company’s total number of destinations in Egypt has reached nine. He noted that the airline’s growing presence across Egypt reflects strong and sustained demand for travel options at competitive prices, with ease and comfort.

Pasupathy added that there are more than 690,000 Egyptians residing in Kuwait, noting that Egypt has been a key market for Kuwait Airways since it launched flights to Alexandria in 2006.

He explained that Kuwait Airways currently operates flights to eight destinations in Egypt, including Cairo, Sphinx, Alexandria, Assiut, Luxor, Sohag, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Hurghada.

He stated that the company continues to enhance air connectivity between Kuwait and Egypt by serving multiple destinations across the country, providing customers with greater flexibility and broader travel options, whether for visiting family and friends, business purposes, or tourism.
