50.5 million dinars in profits for listed insurance companies in the first half, up 12.2 percent

Results from insurance companies listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange for the first half of 2026 showed that the sector’s combined profits reached approximately 50.5 million dinars, compared to 44.98 million dinars in the same period in 2025, representing a 12.25 percent growth, or a value increase of 5.51 million dinars.
According to data from the seven insurance companies listed on the exchange, the sector recorded a jump in second-quarter profits by 41.68 percent, or 7.52 million dinars on an annual basis, compared to 18.04 million dinars.
The first-half results showed that Gulf Insurance captured the largest share of the listed insurance companies’ profits, accounting for approximately 47 percent of the total, with profits of 23.76 million dinars, an increase of 89.1 percent, or 11.2 million dinars, compared to 12.56 million dinars.
Al-Ahliya Insurance came in second place, capturing 21 percent of the total, after posting profits of 10.64 million dinars compared to 13.52 million dinars. It was followed by Kuwait Reinsurance, which captured 17.9 percent of the profits, posting 9.05 million dinars compared to 9.52 million dinars. Thus, these three companies dominated more than 86 percent of the sector’s profits.
Kuwait Insurance’s profits accounted for 7.4 percent, or approximately 3.75 million dinars, while Warba Insurance’s profits reached 2.7 million dinars, capturing 5.3 percent of total profits. Wathaq Insurance’s profits amounted to 570,000 dinars, and Awal Takaful’s profits reached 20,000 dinars.
Insurance companies recorded a clear jump in second-quarter profits, with Gulf Insurance capturing a share of approximately 42.1 percent of total profits, posting 10.75 million dinars, a growth of 79.9 percent, or an increase of 4.77 million dinars compared to 5.98 million dinars in the same period in 2025.
Al-Ahliya Insurance came in second place, capturing 22.8 percent of total profits, with profits of 5.84 million dinars compared to 3.55 million dinars in the same period last year. Kuwait Reinsurance followed, capturing 18 percent of profits, with 4.62 million dinars compared to 4.24 million dinars. Thus, the share of these three companies exceeded 83 percent of the sector’s profits.
Kuwait Insurance’s profits accounted for 10 percent, or approximately 2.57 million dinars, while Warba Insurance’s profits reached 1.31 million dinars, capturing 5.1 percent. Wathaq Insurance’s profits amounted to 410,000 dinars, and Awal Takaful’s profits reached 50,000 dinars.
