Environment: Supporting sustainable transport solutions to achieve environmental and developmental goals

The Public Authority for Environment has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the shift toward sustainable transport solutions that contribute to achieving long-term environmental and developmental goals, emphasizing the importance of linking sustainable transport projects with national objectives to bolster the country’s environmental and developmental roadmap up to 2060.
In this context, Sheikhah Al-Ibrahim, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department and the Authority’s official spokesperson, told KUNA on Monday, following a visit by an Authority delegation to the Public Transport Company led by Acting Director General Nof Al-Bahbahani, that the Authority also supports the gradual transition toward transport solutions that help reduce emissions, improve quality of life, and conserve natural resources.
Al-Ibrahim added that during the visit, the delegation reviewed the company’s latest public transport projects, particularly the new electric buses, and learned about their operational mechanisms, key features, and role in supporting environmentally friendly transport modes.
She clarified that the Authority’s delegation also reviewed the company’s efforts to develop the public transport system and its role in encouraging the use of mass transit, thereby helping to reduce traffic congestion, lower emissions, and enhance air quality.
