Al Mubarek Company continues to entrench sustainability as a core element of its corporate strategy and operational processes, by adopting an integrated approach that combines enhancing resource efficiency, strengthening community responsibility, and implementing best governance practices. This contributes to achieving a sustainable positive impact and creating long-term value for society and stakeholders. The company’s comprehensive sustainability strategy integrates environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into all stages of project planning, design, implementation, and operation, ensuring that growth and expansion align with sustainable development principles.

As an indicator reflecting its progress in environmental, social, and governance performance, the company has strengthened its presence among leading global sustainability assessments. It received a “BBB” rating from MSCI, scored 40 in S&P Global’s ESG assessment, achieved a score of 20.21 in Sustainalytics’ evaluation, recorded a result of 2.2 in LSEG Data & Analytics, and scored 68 in CSRHub’s assessment.

The company continues to set clear objectives and performance indicators in the areas of energy, water, waste, and emissions, while developing governance and disclosure frameworks and enhancing the role of sustainability in corporate and investment decisions. This approach is reflected in the initiatives implemented through its projects, notably Al Awaniuz – Kuwait, alongside achievements in green building, sustainable finance, workplace environment, and global assessments of environmental, social, and governance practices.

In line with Al Awaniuz – Kuwait’s commitment to supporting national efforts to rationalize electricity consumption and raise awareness about resource conservation, the project launched the “The Impact Starts With You” campaign across its social media platforms. The campaign aims to encourage community members to adopt simple daily practices that help reduce energy consumption, emphasizing that achieving a positive and sustainable impact begins with individual actions and shared responsibility.

Operationally, Al Awaniuz continues to implement a set of measures aimed at improving energy efficiency. Approximately 95 percent of Al Awaniuz’s lighting has been converted to energy-efficient LED bulbs, which consume less power than traditional bulbs, alongside the installation of motion sensors in prayer halls and service corridors.

In addition to its environmental initiatives, Al Awaniuz – Kuwait continues to fulfill its role as an active community platform by providing spaces for government entities and non-governmental organizations to host events and campaigns under corporate social responsibility initiatives. Events held at Al Awaniuz – Kuwait have achieved significant success, engagement, and visitor turnout. These include the “Be Aware” event organized by the Ministry of Interior to enhance security awareness, the “A Country That Protects You” anti-drug campaign by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the “Guide Me” campaign by the Ministry of Higher Education, as well as campaigns related to university admissions. In support of applied education and raising awareness among new generations about sustainability issues, Al Awaniuz hosted field trips for students enrolled in the 47th Summer Training Course.

Al-Mabani’s commitment to green building standards has extended to several of its current and future projects, with four projects earning LEED certifications from the U.S. Green Building Council. Al-Avenues stands as the first commercial complex in Kuwait to receive the Gold certification, while Al-Aventura, Souq Sabah, and Al-Avenues – Dammam have achieved Pre-Certification status in the Gold category.

Projects certified or pre-certified under LEED account for approximately 40.55 percent of Al-Mabani’s total investment portfolio by area, reflecting the company’s expansion in applying green building concepts across its developments.

In an achievement that underscores its commitment to providing a healthy and safe environment, Al-Avenues – Kuwait received the Diamond rating under the Enhanced Health Commercial Complex (Mu’azzaz) project, with a score of 99 percent, one of the highest ratings achieved by commercial complexes across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Al-Mabani’s sustainability approach extends to investing in human capital, as the company was awarded the global “Great Place to Work” certification, recognized in the GCC region for the 2025–2026 period.

In November 2025, Al-Mabani signed Kuwait’s first green loan agreement, valued at KD 25 million with the National Bank of Kuwait, to finance the Souq Sabah project.
