Kuwait National Company Enhances Staff Skills in Serving People with Disabilities

Kuwait Airways, in collaboration with Shahid Shahab for the Management of Specialized Medical Centers, organized a number of specialized training courses and programs for its employees, pursuant to a memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties. The initiative aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of staff in dealing with individuals with special needs, particularly air cabin crew and airport personnel.

The training programs covered several specialized topics on communication and interaction techniques with various groups of people with disabilities, including those with hearing, visual, and motor impairments. They also focused on best practices and methods that contribute to providing support and assistance during all stages of travel, thereby enhancing the ease and comfort of their travel experience.

In this context, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Airways, Captain Abdulwahab Al-Shatti, stated that organizing these training courses stems from Kuwait Airways’ belief in the importance of investing in human capital and developing its employees’ skills, as they are the cornerstone of delivering distinguished services that meet the needs of all passengers and align with their expectations.

Al-Shatti added that these courses are part of Kuwait Airways’ commitment to continuously developing its employees’ capabilities and raising their readiness to handle various passenger needs, in line with the company’s strategy to elevate service standards and promote inclusivity, ensuring a distinguished travel experience for all customers without exception.

Al-Shatti emphasized that Kuwait Airways, as the national carrier of Kuwait, strives to provide an inclusive travel environment that accommodates the needs of diverse passenger groups. It continuously works to develop its services and enhance the efficiency of its workforce, reflecting its commitment to delivering a safe, comfortable, and distinguished travel experience for all its customers.

For her part, Ghazlan Al-Tashah, Acting Training Center Manager at Kuwait Airways, stated that the training programs represent an important step in enhancing employees’ skills in interacting with persons with disabilities. She noted that qualifying staff and equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills contributes to providing a smoother and more comfortable travel experience, while strengthening their ability to offer appropriate support to passengers throughout all stages of their journey.

Al-Tashah pointed out that the courses included theoretical and practical components focused on communication and interaction techniques with various cases, as well as learning best practices in serving persons with disabilities. This enables employees to interact with them efficiently and professionally, thereby enhancing the quality of services provided in the company’s facilities and on board its flights.

She confirmed that Kuwait Airways continues to implement training and development programs in cooperation with specialized entities, leveraging their expertise to enhance workforce efficiency, in line with international best standards and practices in customer service. She highlighted that employee skill development represents one of the key pillars the company relies on to elevate its service levels.
