Aman reviews New Zealand's emergency management experience and explores ways to exchange expertise

The working team responsible for establishing the National Center for Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management at the national level (AMAN) met with New Zealand’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The delegation held talks with Minister of Civil Defence and Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery Mark Mitchell, as well as NEMA’s Chief Executive, Dave Gawn, to learn about New Zealand’s experience in emergency and disaster management.

In a press statement today, AMAN said that during its visit to New Zealand, the team familiarized itself with national monitoring and coordination mechanisms, early warning systems, risk assessment methodologies, disaster scenario planning, and measures to enhance readiness and response capabilities.
