Ministry of Education: 10 summer clubs participated in the seven-a-side football tournament

In this regard, Hamad Abdullah Al-Hamad, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and President of the Kuwait School Sports Federation, emphasized that the tournament is held within the framework of the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening school sports and expanding student participation in sports activities, given their role in developing students’ capabilities and skills, and in instilling values of cooperation, respect, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
He clarified that the tournament goes beyond the concept of sports competition and achieving rankings, serving as an opportunity to discover student talents, highlight their abilities, and work on refining and developing them. This prepares outstanding students to transition to sports clubs and represent national teams in the future. He commended the enthusiasm and positive competition displayed during the matches, as well as the efforts of the referees, who are Ministry of Education teachers, and the staff overseeing the organization of the tournament.
He noted that school summer clubs represent a comprehensive educational environment that allows students to invest their time during the summer vacation in purposeful and diverse programs and activities, combining skill development, learning, and enjoyment. He pointed out that the Ministry is simultaneously committed to establishing educational cultural clubs to enhance students’ basic skills and academic achievement, preparing them to return to the upcoming academic year with renewed spirit and energy.
For her part, Dr. Hessa Jasem Arab, Director of the Technical Guidance Department for Physical Education and Acting Secretary-General of the Kuwait School Sports Federation, stated that the tournament represents the second edition of the seven-a-side football championships designated for male students in the middle and secondary stages. She explained that this year’s edition saw the participation of 10 school summer clubs, with competitions demonstrating promising athletic capabilities and skills among the participating students.
She added that the tournament contributes to providing a healthy, educational, and sporting environment under the supervision of specialized staff, including physical education teachers. It offers students the opportunity to showcase their technical and physical potential, helping to identify outstanding talents and guide them toward sports clubs to develop their levels.
She pointed out that several students who excelled in sports activities have already been supported and registered in sports clubs, reflecting the role of school sports in early talent discovery and preparation for transition to more advanced levels, ultimately leading to representing national teams in the future.
Arab clarified that the tournament competitions have reached their final stages. The Muhammad Al-Wazan Center qualified to compete for third and fourth places, while the Muhammad Al-Sani Center, affiliated with the Ahmadi Educational Area, and the Ayas bin Muadh Center, affiliated with the Hawalli Educational Area, competed for first and second places.
