3.45 billion KD in assets of “Collective Investment” by end of June

- Islamic systems’ assets grew by 11.7% to KD 1.72 billion, while traditional systems’ assets grew by 2.9%

- Assets of securities and real estate funds increased to KD 133.67 million, up from KD 1.2 billion

Kuwait’s collective investment systems continued to record strong performance during the first half of 2026, supported by notable growth in money market funds and debt instruments, pushing their asset value to KD 3.45 billion by the end of June, an increase of KD 230.89 million, or 7.1%, compared to KD 3.22 billion at the end of December 2025.

According to data from the Capital Markets Authority, the number of collective systems rose to 66, up from 65 in December, due to an increase in traditional systems to 33, while the number of Islamic systems remained stable at 33.

According to asset distribution by system type, traditional systems’ assets rose by 2.9%, or approximately KD 49.44 million, to KD 1.728 billion by the end of June, compared to KD 1.678 billion in December. In contrast, Islamic systems’ assets increased by 11.7%, or KD 181.45 million, to KD 1.726 billion, up from KD 1.544 billion.

By system category, assets of securities funds and systems declined by 2.1% to KD 1.2 billion, compared to KD 1.23 billion, distributed across 34 funds, including 20 traditional funds with assets of KD 989.7 million and 14 Islamic funds with assets of KD 219.26 million.

Real estate funds’ assets rose by 2.5% to KD 133.67 million, compared to KD 130.34 million, distributed across four systems: one traditional system with assets of KD 22.854 million and three Islamic systems with assets of KD 110.82 million.

Money market funds continued to hold the largest asset volume among collective investment systems, reaching KD 1.889 billion by the end of June, a 14% increase, or KD 232.3 million, compared to KD 1.65 billion. Their number rose to 17, up from 16 funds in December, including five traditional funds with assets of KD 588.73 million and 12 Islamic funds with assets of KD 1.3 billion.

Debt instrument funds also posted clear growth, with assets reaching KD 116.488 million, distributed across five funds: four traditional funds with assets of KD 94.5 million and one Islamic fund with assets of KD 21.98 million.

Private equity fund assets rose by 3.2% to KD 5.01 million, compared to KD 4.85 million, distributed across one traditional fund. Holding fund assets increased by 3.6%, from KD 26.11 million to KD 27.07 million, in one traditional fund. Contractual fund assets rose by 1.7%, from KD 9.1 million to KD 9.26 million, distributed across two Islamic systems. REITs fund assets increased by 0.5% to KD 63.9 million, distributed across one Islamic fund. Multi-asset funds saw their assets rise by 7.1% to KD 346,000, with their number remaining stable at one traditional fund.
