Tripathi: Strong ties between Kuwait and India

The Embassy of the Republic of India in Kuwait celebrated the 80th anniversary of India’s independence on Saturday in a festive atmosphere, with more than 2,000 attendees comprising members of the Indian community, embassy guests, and friends of India in Kuwait, at the embassy premises.

The celebration began with Ambassador Paramita Tripathi presenting bouquets of flowers before the “Shilavalkam” memorial plaque dedicated to honoring India’s freedom fighters, alongside a statue of Mahatma Gandhi. This was followed by a collective rendition of the national anthem, marking the 150th anniversary of its adoption this year, after which the ambassador raised the Indian national flag.

The ambassador emphasized the strong historical ties between India and Kuwait, rooted in mutual respect, goodwill, and deep connections between the two peoples, while praising the significant contributions of the Indian community across various sectors in Kuwait.

The embassy joined Indian missions worldwide in the “Surya Path Tiranga” initiative, which celebrates the journey of the Indian tricolor flag around the globe as a symbol of national pride, unity, and shared identity.

The embassy also encouraged participants to join the “Selfie with the Indian Flag” and “Flag in Every Home” initiatives, with dedicated photo booths featuring the Indian flag set up during the event.
