Inter signs English full-back Spence

Inter Milan has signed English international defender Jaiden Spence from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal that runs until 2031, the Italian league champions announced.

In a statement on Saturday, Inter said: “The English right-back, born in 2000, joins the Nerazzurri from Tottenham Hotspur in a permanent transfer. Spence has signed a contract with the club until June 30, 2031.”

Spence, who represented the Three Lions at the World Cup in North America, where they reached the semi-finals, has been playing for Tottenham since 2022, with the north London club having paid €14 million to secure his signature.

The defender has previous experience in Serie A, having spent six months on loan at Genoa between January and June 2024.

He is the second English international to join Inter within two weeks. At the end of July, John Stones, 32, left Manchester City after a decade to join the Lombard club. He and Spence will form Inter’s defensive line alongside Italian internationals Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco.
