Chinese Defense: Joint Air Exercises with Egypt

A Chinese military spokesperson said on Friday that the Chinese and Egyptian air forces will conduct joint exercises in Egypt from mid-August to early September.

At a press conference, Chen Xi, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense, said that these exercises, codenamed “Eagles of Civilization-2026,” mark the second joint training between the air forces of the two countries.

The spokesperson added that the exercises will focus on air combat tactics, air superiority operations, combat search and rescue missions, as well as force employment drills.

Chen said the joint training will continue to enhance mutual trust and traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation between the two militaries, and contribute to achieving peace and stability at the regional level.
