The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced that the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund had received new contributions totaling $12 million from four national institutions, aimed at bolstering its resources, enhancing its capacity to finance priority interventions and projects, and raising its readiness to respond to emergency needs.
In two separate statements issued yesterday, Thursday, the Fund clarified that Al-Mabani Company contributed $8 million, while the contributions from three other national institutions amounted to $4 million, comprising $2 million from Kuwait Insurance Company, $1 million from Kuwait Danish Dairy Company (KDD), and $1 million from Abdullah Saleh Al-Shalan Global Group.
The Fund emphasized that these contributions reflect the diversity of economic sectors participating in supporting the Fund, as well as the broad scope of institutional engagement with its objectives. This helps enhance available resources and direct them toward priority needs, while raising readiness to handle various emergency situations and conditions.
It added that the continued flow of contributions strengthens the Fund’s ability to fulfill its role within an institutional framework that ensures resources are directed according to priorities and actual needs, supporting rapid response and the continuity of essential services when required.
The Fund noted that the size of Al-Mabani Company’s contribution places it among the notable financial contributions received by the Fund, embodying the level of engagement the initiative has garnered from national institutions and their keenness to actively contribute to supporting the country’s readiness and enhancing its capacity to confront exceptional circumstances.
Al-Mabani Company is one of the leading real estate development firms in the country. Established in 1964, its activities focus on developing mixed-use destinations, operating and managing commercial complexes, and designing and managing projects. Its operations extend to several regional markets, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The company is the developer and manager of The Avenues – Kuwait, one of its most prominent real estate projects, alongside a number of other projects and expansions that reflect its orientation toward developing integrated destinations with economic and social value.
Al-Mabani places great importance on its national role and social responsibility, driven by its commitment to contributing to initiatives that serve Kuwait and its society.
Within the framework of its corporate social responsibility, the company strives to cooperate with government entities and civil society organizations, participating in community and national programs and initiatives across various fields, thereby contributing to positive and sustainable impact.
The contributions from the other three institutions reflect the diversity of economic sectors participating in supporting the Fund. Kuwait Danish Dairy Company (KDD) was established in 1962 and offers a diverse portfolio of dairy products, juices, ice cream, and cooking products, with a presence extending to regional markets.
Kuwait Insurance Company was established in 1960 and is the first insurance company in Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. It has solidified its position in the local and regional insurance market over more than six decades through a diverse range of insurance products and services.
