Is Bill Gates' Daughter Facing a 20-Year Prison Sentence?

Arabia.net – Phoebe Gates, the 23-year-old daughter of American billionaire Bill Gates, has been accused of engaging in “cookie stuffing” through her startup, Phia, which is valued at billions of dollars.

According to U.S. reports, this practice is a violation that can carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.

Phia, a digital shopping assistant co-founded by Gates with her former Stanford University classmate, Sophia Kianni, expressed shock in July after reports emerged that it had planted an excessive number of cookies, thereby claiming credit for online sales from partners it had not actually driven.

In a statement, the company clarified that it only became aware of the issue within the past 24 hours, pledging to fix the problem.

However, informed sources told Bloomberg that the co-founders had been aware of the issue for at least seven months, and that the company had been inflating its commission earnings from sales.

Phia operates as a browser extension that searches for discount codes at online retailers when users click on the add-on during the checkout process.
