The Spanish Super Cup in Istanbul... sponsored by Riyadh Season

Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the board of directors of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, announced that Riyadh Season will sponsor the 2027 Spanish Super Cup, which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, as part of the season’s ongoing presence at major global sporting events.

The tournament matches will take place at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, one of the world’s most prominent venues.

The participating clubs are Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, and Atletico Madrid.

Meanwhile, the new season of Spain’s top football league, La Liga, kicks off on Saturday with two matches: the first pits newly promoted Deportivo Alaves against Getafe, while the second sees Sevilla host Rayo Vallecano.

Defending champions Barcelona and runners-up Real Madrid will begin their campaigns in the second round, after their opening-day fixtures against Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad, respectively, were postponed.

Barcelona will face Elche on the 23rd, while Real Madrid will play Espanyol on the 22nd.
