Revocation and Loss of Citizenship for 30 Individuals

The first decree, published in the supplement of the official newspaper “Kuwait Today,” issued today on Thursday, stipulates the revocation of citizenship certificates from five individuals, including those who acquired citizenship through dependency, in accordance with Article 21 bis (a) of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 concerning the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amendments.
This article stipulates the following: “The Kuwaiti citizenship certificate shall be revoked if it is established that it was granted unlawfully based on fraud, false statements, or inaccurate testimonies.”
The second decree also stipulates the revocation of citizenship from one individual, while a decision by the Supreme Committee for Nationality Determination stipulates the loss of citizenship for 24 individuals, based on Article 11 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 concerning the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amendments.
