Emergency Response Attracts $3 Million in New Funding

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced on Wednesday three new contributions to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, totaling $3 million. These include $1 million from the Public Authority for Children’s Affairs, $1 million from Al Hamra Real Estate Company, and $1 million from Kuwait Cement Company, as part of a broadening national participation in the initiative aimed at enhancing Kuwait’s preparedness and improving the efficiency of its emergency response system.
In a statement, the Kuwait Fund clarified that the contribution from the Children’s Affairs Authority represents the first government contribution to the fund since its launch on July 5 last year, while the contributions from Al Hamra Real Estate Company and Kuwait Cement Company reflect the growing involvement of the private sector and the diversity of national sectors supporting the initiative.
It noted that the joining of these three entities to the list of contributors strengthens the integration of national efforts and broadens the base of support directed toward the fund, thereby contributing to enhancing its resources and directing them toward priority interventions and projects, as well as improving the capacity of relevant authorities to handle various emergency needs and circumstances efficiently and effectively.
The Public Authority for Children’s Affairs is one of the country’s national institutions with a longstanding humanitarian and social mission, tracing its origins back to 1939. It is responsible for safeguarding the interests of those under its guardianship, preserving their funds, and maintaining and managing their properties, in accordance with the competencies specified by law.
Kuwait Cement Company is one of the country’s historic national industrial enterprises. For over five decades, it has contributed to supporting industrial and urban development and meeting the local market’s needs for cement products.
It is the only industrial company in Kuwait that produces clinker and manufactures cement entirely locally, reflecting its role in supporting the construction and building sector and the country’s urban development progress.
Al Hamra Real Estate Company is a prominent national real estate firm in Kuwait, operating in the development, management, and operation of real estate and commercial assets, most notably the Al Hamra Business Tower and the Al Hamra Shopping Center and their associated facilities.
