Nizahah Outlined Its Experience in Combating Sports Corruption at the Gulf Level

The Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha) participated in the annual Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) event titled “International Experiences to Enhance Transparency and Combat Corruption in the Sports Sector,” organized by the GCC Secretariat General in coordination with the General Department for Combating Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security at the Bahraini Ministry of Interior, via video conferencing.

Nazaha stated in a statement on Wednesday that the meeting was attended by representatives of anti-corruption authorities in GCC member states, alongside professionals from the sports sector, including representatives from federations and clubs.

The Authority clarified that the event is part of joint efforts to enhance cooperation among GCC bodies concerned with combating sports corruption, raise awareness of the risks of corruption in this sector, and identify preventive measures, by showcasing best practices and relevant regional and international experiences. It added that the Nazaha representative delivered a presentation titled “Kuwait’s Experience in Enhancing Integrity and Transparency in Sports,” which covered the legal and institutional framework for sports and anti-corruption efforts in the country.
