Riyadh and Cairo: Do not pay attention to what is published in some media and social networks

In the context of continuous consultation and coordination between the two countries, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, exchanged views by phone on the rapidly evolving regional developments.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that the two ministers emphasized “the importance of ignoring what is published in certain media outlets and social media platforms regarding the close relations between the two brotherly countries,” with Abdelatty praising “the depth and uniqueness of the fraternal and strategic relations.”

Faisal bin Farhan and Abdelatty discussed “ways to further activate the efforts undertaken by the Regional Quartet, comprising Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, to support de-escalation efforts and enhance security and stability in the region, as well as to strengthen cooperation among them.”

They also discussed “the intensive efforts being made by regional partners, including the two brotherly countries, aimed at reducing escalation and containing tensions in the region, and returning to the diplomatic track within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran.”

Furthermore, Faisal bin Farhan held a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, to review prospects for joint action, recent developments in the region, and support for diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation, ensuring the security of waterways in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea, as well as freedom of navigation in both, thereby contributing to the preservation of regional security and stability.
