Three matches to kick off the Saudi League

Riyadh – AFP: The new season of the Saudi Professional League kicks off tomorrow evening, Thursday, with three matches in the opening round. Al-Shabab will host Al-Qadsieh, while Abha will face Al-Hazem at the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium. Newly promoted Al-Diriyah will begin their historic league campaign against Al-Ahli at the First Park Stadium.

Al-Nassr did not disclose the value of the transfer, but the specialized website Transfermarkt estimated it at 22 million euros.

Costa joined Al-Nassr alongside his compatriots Joao Felix and veteran star Cristiano Ronaldo, after playing for Spanish side Mallorca from 2023 until last season, making 100 league appearances and 108 in all competitions.

The defensive midfielder has made seven appearances for the Portuguese national team and was among the 26 players selected for the 2026 World Cup squad, which was eliminated by Ronaldo and his teammates in the round of 16.
