Oman: "The Golan" is occupied Syrian land

Oman expressed its condemnation on Wednesday of the Colombian government’s decision to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan, affirming that this decision violates international law and contradicts resolutions of international legitimacy, foremost among them United Nations Security Council Resolution 497 of 1981, and reiterating its firm position that the Golan is occupied Syrian territory.

The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that Oman reaffirms its support for the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic over all its territories and its unity, calling on all countries to adhere to the UN Charter, the provisions of international law, and relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.
