Hassan Al-Raddad to Al-Rai: "Taha Al-Gharib"... Blends Romance and Drama

Egyptian actor Hassan El Reda has completed filming the movie “Taha Al-Ghareeb,” marking his return to the big screen. The film is adapted from a novel of the same name by Egyptian writer Mohamed Sadek, and stars young actress Tara Emad in their first collaboration.

In a statement to “Al-Rai,” El Reda said, “I consider this work one of the important and distinctive films in my artistic career, especially since it is adapted from a literary work. Its story blends romance and drama, and it resonates with me personally. I hope it will appeal to audiences in Egypt and across Arab countries, as well as in international screenings.”

He added, “The novel ‘Taha Al-Ghareeb’ achieved success upon its publication, particularly among younger readers, and went through multiple editions. This encouraged me to agree to the adaptation. Moreover, the novel’s author, Mohamed Sadek, himself wrote the screenplay.”

El Reda noted that the entire film was shot in Egypt under the direction of Osman Abulben, with whom he previously collaborated on the notable film “Tawam Rohi” (Soul Twin). He praised the production team as outstanding, highlighting Tara Emad, Bioumi Fouad, and Mohamed Ali Rizk among them.

“Taha Al-Ghareeb” is scheduled for release in cinemas next November. The story follows a real estate registrar who suffers a psychological shock after losing his beloved and tries to live on her memory until he encounters something that changes his life.
