Chelsea loans Jørgensen to Strasbourg

Strasbourg – AFP – French club Strasbourg has signed Danish goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen on loan from English side Chelsea until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
The Danish international, who has earned two caps, replaces Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders, who had also been on loan from Chelsea to Strasbourg last season.
Jorgensen was born in Sweden and began his youth career at Malmö before making his professional debut with Spanish club Villarreal between 2021 and 2024. He then moved to Chelsea for a fee of 24 million euros ($27.6 million).
The 24-year-old goalkeeper made 36 appearances over two seasons in London. He gained notoriety in March during the Paris leg of the Champions League round of 16, when he conceded five goals, one of which resulted from a misplaced pass while building an attack.
In the opposite direction, Argentine midfielder Valentin Barco and Dutch forward Emmanuel Imolo moved from Strasbourg to Chelsea earlier this summer.
