Al-Sahel Retains Top Spot in 'Al-Awla'

Al-Sahel continued to top the Zain League First Division after their easy 3-0 victory over Al-Shamakh on Tuesday, in the eighteenth round.

The “Abu Hleifa sons” increased their points tally to 40, extending their lead over their rivals Al-Yarmouk and Al-Salhiyah by four points. The latter two faced Al-Burqan and Al-Sporty respectively on Tuesday to conclude the round. Al-Sahel also bolstered their hopes of securing one of the two promotion spots to the Premier League next season, with only three matches remaining, against Al-Jazira, Al-Salhiyah, and finally Al-Yarmouk.

Al-Jazira distanced themselves significantly from the promotion race after a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Khaitan, leaving them with just one point and moving them to fourth place with 35 points.
