Haya Al-Fahd's family: The late did not stipulate allocating part of her estate to establish a charity or fund
The family of the late, esteemed artist Haifa Wehbe, through a statement issued by her former legal representative and current legal representative of her daughter, Susan, denied that “Umm Susan” left any will regarding the allocation of part of her estate to establish a charity or a charitable fund, or calling on people to donate in her name through associations, digital currencies, links, or otherwise, warning against the circulation of false news that causes them harm.
The statement, which described the matter as a malicious rumor, noted that “Kuwaiti, Gulf, and Arab news and artistic websites circulated it extensively, leading to great displeasure and distress among the late artist’s daughters and grandchildren, who received intensive calls asking about the location of donations or how to contribute to this alleged fund, causing them significant annoyance and embarrassment.”
The statement also pointed out that “interviews conducted by the late artist during her lifetime, in which she spoke about values of compassion, goodness, and assistance, are currently being exploited. Some individuals excerpt these interviews and present them as if they are a recent will announced after her death,” emphasizing that “this matter is entirely baseless, representing deception, slander, and exploitation of old materials available on news and social media platforms, leading viewers or readers to believe they are authentic and official statements issued by her and published for the first time after her death, which is completely incorrect.”
The statement confirmed that the late artist left no will on this matter or any other, and that the heirs have been identified and the estate distributed in accordance with Islamic Sharia and Kuwaiti law, through the Documentation Department of the Ministry of Justice, with no will, fund, or charitable association linked to her estate.
The statement called for respecting the feelings of the late artist’s daughters and grandchildren and refraining from circulating false news that causes them harm and distress, warning all news websites and social media application users against exploiting the late artist’s name or images, or any images manipulated using AI programs, for the purpose of collecting money or donations in any form, whether through charities, links, digital currencies, or otherwise, or exploiting her name or image to organize any festivals or artistic, cultural, or other events in Kuwait or abroad without prior written permission from the legal representative of her daughter, Susan, only, or producing or displaying any visual or audio materials for any new production after her death concerning her biography or any aspect of her life or works without prior written permission from the legal representative of her daughter, Susan, only.
It also demanded not to excerpt any media materials from her previous interviews or artistic works and present them as if they are a recent will claimed to be published for the first time after her death, so that they are re-edited and redesigned using artificial intelligence.
It further warned against spreading or publishing any news, regardless of its nature, concerning her estate, wills, or private life.
The statement appealed to all news websites, newspapers, various media outlets, and individuals not to participate in publishing or spreading any of these news items or misleading materials without verifying the source with the late artist’s official representative, while reserving the full right to legally pursue anyone who does so before competent authorities, whether in Kuwait or abroad, to protect the rights of her daughter and grandchildren and to prevent donors and fans of the late artist from being defrauded.
