Government Statistics and Indicators... With the Approval of the Cabinet of Ministers

As part of broader government-led initiatives to regulate the dissemination of data and statistics by affiliated entities, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has instructed ministers and the bodies under their supervision “not to publish or announce any data, statistics, or indicators through all media outlets, social media platforms, websites, or official ministry accounts, except after submission to and approval by the Council of Ministers.” This move aims to ensure accuracy and coherence among national institutions.

The decision, taken by the Council of Ministers during its meeting on Tuesday, July 28, follows directives from His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. It seeks to develop the government’s data base and improve the quality of government indicators by ensuring comprehensiveness and objectivity, alongside expanding cooperation among various government entities.
