The Commercial Bank reports 9.4 million KD net profit in the first half

Abdul Fatah Muhammad Ma’arfi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Tijariya Real Estate Company, announced that the company’s results for the financial year ended June 30, 2026, yielded net profits of KD 9.375 million, representing a 3.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

Commenting on the financial results for the first half of 2026, Ma’arfi stated that despite the current political situation and its impact on the economic climate, the first half witnessed stability in net operating revenues, growth in the results of affiliated companies, and a decline in the valuation gains of certain investments compared to the same period last year. Regarding the financial indicators for the first half, return on shareholders’ equity reached 3.1%, an increase of 1.6%; return on total assets stood at 1.8%, up by 3.3%; and return on company capital was 4.8%, with a growth of 0.44%.

Ma’arfi emphasized that, despite the prevailing geopolitical circumstances, Al-Tijariya continued to deliver strong performance, driven by close and continuous monitoring of ongoing developments and an assessment of their potential implications on the economic environment. The company also remains committed to taking necessary proactive measures to adapt to these challenges, thereby safeguarding shareholders’ rights and maintaining the solidity of its financial position.

As part of its strategy aimed at diversifying its international investments and expanding its portfolio of income-generating assets, Al-Tijariya, through its subsidiaries, invested in a logistics and transportation center in Texas, United States of America.

Furthermore, the company, in collaboration with its strategic investors, successfully exited its investment in the “501 First Residences” project in Miami. The 40-story residential tower comprises 476 residential units. The exit followed the successful completion of the project’s development and the sale of its units, resulting in recorded profits for the company.

Ma’arfi added that the company continued to implement several community, environmental, and educational initiatives, reflecting its firm commitment to corporate social responsibility and its role as an active partner in achieving sustainable development.

He noted that the company signed an annual strategic partnership with “Amani” to sponsor the fourth edition of the “Amani Your School” competition. This initiative aims to raise environmental awareness and promote concepts of sustainability and recycling among school students, thereby reinforcing positive environmental behaviors among the younger generation. The company also sponsored the “Most Sustainable Product or Service” award in the universities category within the “Sharikatna” program organized by the Kuwait Association for Business Advancement (Kuwait Achievers), reaffirming its commitment to supporting youth and enhancing concepts of sustainability and entrepreneurship. Additionally, the company participated in delivering a training session for students on the future of work environments, technology, and artificial intelligence, alongside evaluating student projects, thereby encouraging innovation and empowering young national talents.

In support of its inclusion and empowerment initiatives, Al-Tijariya, in cooperation with the Integrated Care for People with Disabilities Foundation (ICAN), organized a cooking skills workshop hosted at Symphony Style Hotel, owned by the company. The event was sponsored by and attended by Sheikh Sheikha Al-Abdullah Al-Khalifa Al-Sabah, with the aim of developing participants’ skills, boosting their self-confidence, and encouraging their active participation in society.

The company also organized a blood donation campaign across several of its complexes, including Al-Tijariya Tower, Symphony Complex, and Boulevard Complex, in collaboration with the Central Blood Bank. The campaign aimed to support the bank’s needs, reinforce values of humanitarian work and social solidarity, and encourage community members to contribute to national initiatives with positive impact.

“Al-Tijariya” launched an awareness campaign under the slogan “Conscious Consumption… A Sustainable Future,” aiming to raise awareness about the importance of conserving electricity and water, and to promote a culture of responsible consumption, in line with the state’s efforts to preserve natural resources and achieve sustainable development goals. The campaign included awareness messages via social media platforms and digital screens at the company’s properties, as well as employee training, contributing to embedding sustainable practices among various segments of society.
