Egyptian Interior Ministry reveals details of entire family's murder in Fifth Settlement: Killer was family friend, motive was theft of gold bars

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior revealed on Monday the details of the murder of a family in the Fifth Settlement area of Cairo, in which a couple and their two daughters were killed by a family friend.

In a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Interior, it said that after a report from the victim’s brother about his brother’s disappearance and inability to contact him, authorities proceeded to the suspect’s residence, where they found his car with traces of blood and bullet casings. They also discovered the bodies of his wife and two daughters inside the wife’s car near their residence.

The ministry’s statement continued that the suspect lured the victim in his car and assaulted him by firing a bullet at him. After confirming his death, the suspect took the keys to the residential property and disposed of the body by throwing it behind a concrete barrier on the Ain Sokhna Road.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Interior, the suspect then went to the victim’s residence, contacted his wife, and deceived her by claiming her husband had been involved in a traffic accident and was taken to a hospital. After getting into her car with her and their two daughters, he fired bullets at them on the same road, resulting in their deaths.

The statement noted that he subsequently returned to the family’s residence, left the car nearby with the bodies of the deceased women inside, and covered the car. When he attempted to enter the victim’s house to rob it, he was surprised by the property guard and was unable to enter, so he decided to return at night to complete the robbery.
