The Administrative Court annuls a student’s failure due to absence from the Teams platform and orders the Ministry of Education to consider her successful and transfer her to the eighth grade.

The Administrative Division of the Court of Cassation ruled to annul the Ministry of Education’s decision to fail a seventh-grade student due to unexcused absences.

The judgment included the cancellation of the student’s “weak” grade assessment, along with its consequences, most notably declaring her successful and promoting her to the eighth grade.

Lawyer Bader Mohammed Aldalk had stated that his client was studying at one of the middle schools for girls affiliated with the Ahmadi Educational Area during the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Due to regional circumstances, the Ministry had adopted a remote learning system. However, the student encountered technical difficulties accessing the “Teams” educational platform for approximately two months, and the program only became functional for her in April.

Dalk told the court that his client’s daughter fell behind in accessing the platform due to circumstances beyond her control. Once she was able to log in, she promptly submitted all her academic assignments, and the exceptional conditions surrounding that period prevented her from clarifying the problem she had faced at the time.
