Al-Tabtabaee: Extension of educational cultural centers' operations until the 27th

Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabtabaee conducted an inspection tour of the Educational Cultural Center at Khaled Al-Mutaf School in the Capital Education Zone, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Khaled Al-Rashid and Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Eng. Hamad Al-Hamad. The visit aimed to review the progress of educational programs offered to students, monitor their implementation mechanisms, and assess the level of student participation.

During the tour, Al-Tabtabaee inspected the classrooms and educational programs provided, and listened to explanations regarding the implementation of the educational plan and the targeted skills in core subjects. He also observed a portion of the interactive classes and activities, and met with several students and the teaching and supervisory staff managing the center to learn about their experiences and hear their feedback on the offered programs.

He emphasized that the launch of the Educational Cultural Centers aligns with the Ministry of Education’s strategy to enhance students’ readiness for the new academic year, review and reinforce basic skills, and address areas of weakness using attractive and motivating educational methods. He stressed the importance of utilizing the summer vacation period to support academic achievement and restore students’ motivation toward learning, thereby preparing them to return to their classrooms with greater confidence and readiness.

He noted that the increasing interest in the Educational Cultural Centers reflects the attention paid by students and parents to the summer educational programs, pointing out that 7,560 male and female students have registered in 12 free educational cultural centers, which target students from the first grade of primary school through the ninth grade.

In light of this high demand, and with the Ministry’s commitment to providing opportunities for as many students as possible to benefit from the offered programs, the Minister of Education directed the extension of the operational period of the Educational Cultural Centers by one additional week. The programs will now continue until August 27 instead of August 19, allowing students to continue benefiting from the educational and interactive programs and activities provided by the centers.

The Minister stressed that the objective of the centers is not limited to offering remedial programs in the traditional sense, but rather focuses on providing a more interactive and engaging educational experience. This is achieved by employing active learning methods, learning through play, and peer learning, alongside interactive activities, workshops, and competitions. These efforts aim to develop students’ thinking, communication, and teamwork skills, while boosting their self-confidence.

He emphasized the importance of continuously monitoring the quality of the offered programs and measuring the extent of student benefit from them, ensuring the achievement of desired educational goals and maximizing the use of the summer vacation period. He commended the efforts of the teaching, administrative, and supervisory staff working in the centers and their role in the success of the programs and in providing a motivating educational environment for students.

The Minister of Education appreciated the efforts of all workers in the Educational Cultural Centers, reaffirming the Ministry’s continued monitoring of program progress and evaluation of outcomes. This support aims to enhance students’ readiness for their return to school and to ensure a more prepared and stable start to the 2026/2027 academic year.

It is worth noting that the Educational Cultural Centers, whose programs launched on August 2, offer free foundational courses in Arabic, English, and Mathematics. These courses are supervised by specialized educational cadres and follow educational plans developed by the Technical Guidance Departments, focusing on the basic skills and concepts necessary for learners to transition to their next academic stage with greater readiness.
