"Viral Bombs" Ticking, Warning of a Global Pandemic!

An international research team composed of microbiologists has warned that permafrost in Siberia and northern Canada is melting at a rate three times faster than expected, leading to the release of viruses and bacteria that have been dormant for tens of thousands of years. The researchers explained that they were able to revive “zombie” viruses from ice samples 48,000 years old, finding that they remain capable of infecting single-celled organisms in the laboratory.
According to the study, published in the scientific journal PLOS ONE and led by Professor Jean-Michel Claverie of Aix-Marseille University, Siberian ice contains an “ancient virus library” against which humans have no immunity. He noted that “what is happening in Siberia is a dangerous natural experiment: ice that has been isolated since the last Ice Age is melting, releasing pathogens unknown to modern medicine.”
• Giant viruses of the Pandoravirus family, capable of attacking amoebas and adapting to human cells.
• Anthrax bacteria that emerged in 2016 in Yamal, resulting in the death of 2,000 reindeer and infecting a child.
Public health experts emphasized that melting permafrost is not merely a climate issue, but a silent epidemic threat. They called for the creation of a genomic monitoring system for permafrost and the development of ready-made vaccines against identified families of ancient viruses. The report concluded that the next pandemic may not come from a bat in China, but from ice in Siberia slowly melting beneath our feet.
