Kuwait's Youth Team Lost to Jordan in a Friendly Match

Kuwait’s youth national football team suffered a 1-0 defeat to their Jordanian counterparts in a friendly match played yesterday, Saturday, at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, as part of both sides’ preparations for the upcoming Under-20 Asian Cup qualifiers, scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 6.

The draw placed Kuwait’s “Blue Youth” in Group 7 alongside host nation Cambodia, Japan, and Yemen. Meanwhile, Jordan’s “Nashama” were drawn in Group 4, where they will face host nation Bahrain, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.

Kuwait’s head coach, Croatian Veljko Paunović, sought to maximize the benefit of the match against Jordan by fielding a large number of players across both halves, giving them the opportunity to prove their worth before departing for the final training camp in Thailand, which precedes the team’s travel to Cambodia for the qualifiers.
