Interior Ministry: Egyptian arrested on charges of "intentional homicide" while fleeing across the border fence in Al-Rutqa

The Ministry of Interior announced that the Criminal Security Sector had arrested an Egyptian suspect in a case of intentional homicide, which claimed the lives of two residents in the Kabd area of Al-Jahra Governorate. This breakthrough came after intensive security efforts that led to identifying, tracking, and apprehending the suspect as he attempted to flee the country.

In a press statement, the Ministry of Interior said the incident details began with a report received by security agencies alleging an assault inside one of the traditional wooden boats (ghaeeq) in the Kabd area. Authorities immediately dispatched relevant units to the scene, where they found two residents who had been stabbed and later died from their injuries. Search and investigation teams launched their procedures to uncover the circumstances of the incident and identify the perpetrator. The murder weapon was also found near the scene.

The Ministry noted that through intensified search and investigation efforts and the collection of evidence, detectives were able to identify the suspect and track him. Coordinated with the General Administration of Land Border Security, the suspect was spotted in the Rutqa area while attempting to escape the country by crossing the border fence. He was arrested and handed over to the competent authorities to take all necessary legal action against him.
