Ministry of Commerce: Warehouse in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh seized for used tire retreading

The Capital Inspection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Farwaniya Governorate Criminal Investigation Department, seized a tire retreading workshop in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, which was preparing used tires for resale.
Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, stated that the operation was part of the continuous monitoring and surveillance efforts carried out by inspection teams, emphasizing the Ministry’s commitment to combating any practices that could harm consumers’ rights or endanger their safety.
He clarified that inspection teams, working with the Farwaniya Governorate Criminal Investigation Department, successfully seized the workshop, where it was found that the operators were storing, cleaning, polishing, retreading, and reconditioning used tires in preparation for displaying and selling them to consumers.
He added that the operation resulted in the confiscation of 390 used car tires, along with the discovery of polishing tools and equipment dedicated to tire cleaning and retreading.
He noted that the site was sealed by the General Fireforce, and coordination was established with the Kuwait Municipality and the Public Authority for Environmental Affairs to take necessary measures for the disposal of the used tires in accordance with approved procedures and regulations.
He stressed that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will continue to intensify inspection and monitoring activities in markets and commercial establishments, detect any violations, and take legal action against them, thereby contributing to consumer protection and ensuring the safety of products circulating in the markets.
