Kuwait condemns the reprehensible Iranian attack on an Emirati tanker while transiting the Strait of Hormuz

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the reprehensible Iranian attack that targeted one of the tankers belonging to the UAE’s ADNOC company as it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, in a blatant violation of international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and constituting a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and to global energy supplies.

The Ministry emphasized the urgent need to immediately halt all escalatory actions and to comply with the rules of international law that guarantee freedom of navigation, reaffirming Kuwait’s rejection of any attack on the security and safety of maritime navigation.
