Signing of the "Mecca Joint Defense Agreement" between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan

- Any armed attack on any of the three countries is an attack on all of them

The Saudi Press Agency reported that a joint statement was issued today from the Mecca Summit on Joint Defense among the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Turkey, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

According to the agency, the statement noted that the summit reviewed the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Turkey, as well as a number of issues of common interest. Building on the deep-rooted historical ties among the three countries, and based on the bonds of Islamic brotherhood and solidarity that unite them, as well as shared strategic interests and close defense cooperation, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif signed the “Mecca Agreement on Joint Defense,” which reflects the three countries’ commitment to enhancing their joint security and achieving security, peace, and stability in the region and the world, striving toward a secure and prosperous future.

The agency added that the agreement aims to strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression, and stipulates that any armed attack on any of the three countries is considered an attack on all of them. It also focuses on developing all aspects of defense cooperation among them.
