Customs: Foiled attempt to smuggle large quantities of food supplies to Egypt

Inspectors from the General Directorate of Customs at the Salwa and Al-Khaddra vegetable customs offices, thanks to their vigilance and expertise in customs inspection and supervision, thwarted an attempt to smuggle large quantities of various food supplies hidden inside trucks bound for the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The seizure occurred during routine customs inspections of the trucks. Thorough inspections revealed significant quantities of assorted food items, in violation of applicable regulations and laws. Necessary legal measures were taken against the offenders, and the case was referred to the competent authorities to complete the procedures.

The General Directorate of Customs reaffirms its ongoing efforts to tighten control at customs borders and counter all smuggling attempts, thereby ensuring the protection of economic security, safeguarding the state’s resources, and enforcing laws and regulations with firmness.
