23 projects on state-owned properties... nearing relisting

Twenty-three state-owned real estate projects are entering a new phase for re-tendering, development, and enhanced private sector participation in their management and operation, a move aimed at improving their efficiency and maximizing financial returns. Meanwhile, the Public-Private Partnership Projects Authority is awaiting approval from the Court of Audit to award the consultancy studies for these projects.

Sources close to the matter stated that the Authority recommended awarding the contract to a consulting firm that submitted a bid worth 2.150 million Kuwaiti dinars, paving the way for completing contracting procedures. The winning firm will be responsible for preparing technical, economic, environmental, and legal feasibility studies for the 23 projects located on state-owned lands.

The consulting firm will also prepare tender documents and evaluate bids from participants for each project, in addition to overseeing technical, financial, legal, and environmental aspects until the financial closing stage. This will be done in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 116 of 2014 and its executive regulations, with the goal of enhancing the operational efficiency of these projects and strengthening private sector participation in their management, operation, maintenance, and development. This will contribute to improving service quality, boosting financial resources, and achieving economic development.

The projects include: Al-Fuhayheel (Al-Kout) Corniche – Fifth Phase Corniche (Marina Mall) – Two construction waste treatment plants – Abattoir project – International Center – Al-Mutahida Market – Al-Maseel Market – The Grand Market – Al-Watiya Market – Kuwait Market – Beach 11 (Kuwait Magic) – Al-Mubarakiya Market – Farwaniya Abattoir – Jahra Abattoir – Ahmadi Abattoir – National Market – Al-Safat Market – Al-Munakh Market – International Building Property – Meat, Vegetable, and Fish Market in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh – Meat and Vegetable Market in Jahra (Al-Kheema Mall) – Central Market for Vegetables and Fruits in Salwa – International Golf Club.
